You’re ready to place your order for cabinet doors, or maybe you already have. But now you’re wondering: What happens next? Will you get updates? Do you need to confirm anything? What if something goes wrong and nobody tells you? Will your order get stuck because you missed a step?

At Cutting Edge, we’ve helped hundreds of contractors through this exact situation. We understand how frustrating delays and miscommunications can be, especially when they affect your ability to get paid or finish a job on time. That’s why we’ve built a streamlined, transparent process for every cabinet door order, from the moment you click submit to the day it ships out.

In this guide, you’ll learn:

What to Expect After You Order Cabinet Doors Online

Placing your cabinet door order is just the beginning. What happens next can make or break your project timeline. If you’ve ever waited on an order that seemed to disappear into thin air, you’re not alone. Many contractors and cabinet makers face delays simply because a small step in the process was missed or misunderstood.

That’s why we’ve made our post-order process crystal clear. From confirmation to delivery, here’s what you can expect once you order your cabinet doors.

1. You’ll Receive a Cabinet Door Order Confirmation

After you place your cabinet door order, the first step that occurs is simple – but vital.

You’ll receive an order confirmation by email. If you submitted your order online, this file is for your records only. You don’t need to reply.

However, you must sign the confirmation and return it if one of our team members entered the order during a phone call or after you emailed us the details. This step helps you avoid costly errors by requiring a double-check. We won’t move forward without your signature.

Why this step matters:

This first step is where many delays happen. Missing the confirmation email or forgetting to send the signed copy can cause your order to sit idle for days. That slight delay can push your project back by a week or more.

Our team will follow up by email or phone if we don’t receive a confirmation. However, the sooner you return the signed confirmation, the sooner your order can ship.

2. You’ll Need to Pay for Your Cabinet Door Order

Next, it’s time to pay. You can choose from multiple payment options. However, most customers pay a 50% deposit before we begin production and the remaining balance when the order is ready to ship.

Need your order fast? Pay as soon as possible. Your spot in the production line isn’t locked in until we receive your payment.

Some customers assume payment is automatic if they have an account with us, but it’s not. Remember to check your inbox for the email requesting payment.

3. Your Cabinet Door Order Will Enter Production

Once you’ve sent payment and signed your confirmation, your order moves into production.

At this stage, you’ll receive two emails.

  1. Your Order Is Verified – This email should arrive shortly after you confirm and pay for your order. Its purpose is to notify you that your order is moving on to the next step.
  2. Your Order Is In Progress – By noon the next business day, we’ll email you again to let you know your order is in progress. This second email includes a confirmation file with your estimated ship date.

At this point, your order is locked in, and you may be unable to make changes. So please double-check all your details before signing off and paying.

Contact our team immediately if you need to make a change. We’ll make the change if possible, although you’ll then need to reconfirm your order and pay any additional balance owing.

Want to avoid last-minute issues? Review your door sizes, finishes, and profiles before clicking submit.

4. Your Cabinet Door Order Will Ship Once Complete

Your cabinet doors will ship out as soon as we complete your order – or on the date you requested.

Once your order leaves our shop, you’ll get a shipment confirmation email. This will tell you your order has shipped and include a tracking number. Sometimes, this tracking info comes directly from the courier in a separate email, so check your junk folder.

Your cabinet door order will ship to you on a trusted carrier (usually Manitoulin or Purolator) and should arrive within 1-5 working days.

What Happens If Your Cabinet Door Order Is Delayed?

Although 95% of orders ship on their estimated ship date, problems do occur. Your order may get delayed with minimal notice.

In this case, our team will send you an email notifying you of the delay and providing you with a revised estimated ship date. You can always contact our team if the revised ship date won’t work for you – we commit to doing everything possible to keep your orders on track.
