As a contractor, installer, or cabinet maker, you know how crucial it is to get your cabinet doors on time. When a supplier keeps pushing back your orders, it throws your whole schedule off, and you’re left wondering when those doors will finally arrive. That makes it tough to stick to your deadlines and satisfy your customers. And when projects get delayed, it’s not just your timeline and customer that suffers – your reputation and profits take a hit, too.

What you really need is a supplier who sticks to their word with standard lead times, communicates openly about any delays, and does everything possible to ship your cabinet doors on time.

At Cutting Edge, we’ve been making cabinet doors for over 20 years, so we understand just how important it is to get your orders when you expect them. That’s why we’re committed to giving you accurate lead times, shipping on time, or, at the very least, letting you know if there’s any delay.

However, you’re here to find Cutting Edge’s lead time for plywood panel cabinet doors. Keep reading to learn:

Most Plywood Panel Cabinet Doors Ship Within 7-12 Working Days

Most orders for plywood panel cabinet doors from Cutting Edge ship within 7-12 working days.

This lead time starts from the day you confirm and pay for your order, not the date you submit your order.

And yes, this timeline includes working days only, so stat holidays and weekends don’t count.

Three Factors Affect the Lead Time of Cabinet Doors

Three factors affect the 7-12 day lead time.

1. Construction Method

There are two construction methods for plywood panel cabinet doors – cope and stick and mitred.

Cope and stick plywood panel doors usually ship within 7-10 working days, while mitred plywood panel doors can take up to 12 working days.

2. Custom Details

Your order may take longer if it includes any custom details, like decorative end panels or mullion frames.

These items are complex and require detailed, time-consuming work. Depending on the complexity of the custom details, they may not affect the lead time or may add multiple days.

Adding a custom product may delay your cabinet doors. From left to right - a decorative end panel, a mullion frame, and a range hood.

3. Finishing

Raw cabinet doors ship within 7-12 working days. Finished doors (painted, stained, or lacquered) typically take 4-6 weeks.

Delays May Occur, but Cutting Edge Reduces These Possibilities

You might be thinking this sounds pretty good. You can order raw plywood panel doors, and Cutting Edge will ship them within ten working days, no problem.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work like that, and some orders get delayed.

So, what might cause a delay?

1. Waiting for Confirmation Or Payment

These requirements are a common cause of delays.

You might not realize we require confirmation and payment before we can start on your order. Or, you might never receive the emails requesting confirmation and payment get lost.

We understand you are busy, and emails don’t always function as they should. So, you can expect a phone call from our team if we still require confirmation or payment within 2-3 days of placing your order.

2. Cutting Edge Doesn’t Have Enough Material in Stock

Thanks to our remote location, receiving raw materials is a bit more difficult than it is for those cabinet door manufacturers within cities.

So, we may have to delay your order if it requires a non-stocked material or our team doesn’t have enough material in stock.

Our team reviews your order as soon as you submit it, and during that check, we ensure we have enough of the right material in stock. This check allows us to accurately schedule your order up-front rather than delaying your order at the last minute.

However, there are times when we unexpectedly run out of material, whether we miss ordering it (it does happen sometimes), the order doesn’t come in on time, or the material we have in stock is poor quality, and we must reject it.

In any of these cases, you will receive an email notifying you of the delay and a revised ship date.

3. Human Error

Our team at Cutting Edge is made up of humans. And yes, we do make mistakes sometimes. However, we stand behind our work 100% of the time.

So, if we notice a mistake in our quality inspection (or anywhere throughout the production line), we reject the defective piece and start over.

Sometimes, we don’t notice the mistakes until the last minute – and in this case, we have to delay your order by a day or two.

However, our shipping team starts compiling orders at least 24 hours in advance, which usually gives us enough time to rush any replacements through the production line and ship your order on time.

Cutting Edge Notifies You by Email If We Delay Your Cabinet Doors

Although it’s better when your cabinet doors ship on time, mistakes and delays still occur.

At Cutting Edge Doors & Woodworking, we understand you need to know when a delay occurs to adjust your schedule and notify your customer if necessary. That’s why we send you an email (with your new shipping date) if we have to delay your order.

You Can Order Plywood Panel Cabinet Doors on a Rush Timeline

Sometimes, the 7-12 day lead time is just too long.

We get it. Whether your customer is putting their house on the market, the homeowner is gaining possession by a specific date, or whatever the reason is, you might need your cabinet doors sooner.

When you order from Cutting Edge, you can request a rush order. You must provide the date you need our team to ship the order.

Rush orders over ten pieces or required sooner than five working days cost an extra 10% or $25, whichever is greater. If our team meets the requested ship date, we charge you that fee.

However, if we don’t meet that ship date, we’ve broken our promise to you – so we remove the additional fee.
